We have had this leather sectional in or family room for over 20 years, through 2 boys growing up, 5 cats (over the years) and over those years, tears started small then grew into holes in 2 of the attached seat cushions and one of the arms. I had tried several “repair kits” found online or on late night commercials, and honestly it made the holes look even worse. I bought some material to cover them, but never got further than tucking it around the cushions. I was not prepared to replace it and so I contacted several businesses to get pricing on fixing the holes and Ivar Vankemenade of Leather Repair OC was the only one to return my call. He gave me a very fair price, arrived with his equipment when he said he would and in a couple of hours, he had the holes repaired and looking far nicer than I expected. He was very thorough, and although one of the holes was very large and missing material, the patching material seems to be standing up well. I would not hesitate to recommend Ivar to anyone!

OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP ! After Ivar the owner sorted out some unstitched leather under the left arm ( due to wear & tear ) of one of our recliner sofas we decided to pay him to rejuvenate the appearance of the same 2 seater recliner sofa…..the one we sit in most of the time. AND HE DID ! Ivar and his assistant Ronald arrived at 10am on Tuesday to carry out the makeover. Ivar is a total pro and knows exactly what he is doing. After around 2 hours of dexterous cleaning and resurfacing the job was complete. AMAZING ! Our beloved 21 year old cream leather 2 seater recliner sofa looked virtually identical to it’s 3 seater recliner sofa big brother. In fact Ivar did such a good job we will probably engage him to spruce up the 3 seater recliner sofa which is used mainly for house guests. WHATTA WINNER !

Ivar and team just finished restoring our two 22-year old leather couches. The overall state of these couches was terrible, to put it plainly. All six cushions were dried up and dirty, with holes on some of the cushions. One of the couches had a giant tear on the backrest…it was actually this specific damage that made me realize I need to either get new couches or get both restored. I figured it couldn’t hurt to inquire as to how much a restoration would cost…so went on Yelp and immediately found Leather Repair OC.

Ivar is a pleasure to work with. I cannot say this enough! The website is pretty straight forward. You can contact Ivar via the website by providing your info, a description of what needs to be done, and (most importantly) photos of the project. Ivar got back to me in less than 24 hrs via email and requested more photos, at different angles, so he can better assess the damage. He’s very quick to respond! After further photos, he was able to provide me with a very reasonable quote–so reasonable that I knew restoration was the right way to go!

The day of restoration, Ivar and his assistant arrived 10 mins early and immediately got to work. Both were very polite and kind (Ivar was very patient with our dog who was just mad dogging them the entire time because he’s such a guard dog) and they were laser focused on their work. The results were just AMAZING. The couch looks new! The large tear on the couch disappeared! Each cushion came out looking smooth and looked so dang good! It is BEAUTIFUL WORK!

Ivar, the owner asked for details and pictures of our leather loveseat. We needed more stuffing added, as the recliners had lost their firmness. It was quite a process as he needed to turn them over and take them apart. It took quite awhile to do this process. I called Leather Repair OC after I saw an add in a mail mag. My dog had completely ripped my leather cushions from the back of my couch due to laying on top of it like a 35 lb cat. I sent an email with pics and asked for an estimate and Ivar responded quickly by email and phone with an estimate and his availability. If you’ve tried the rest – NOW TRY THE BEST!
So here’s the deal: I love my cat but I also love my leather furniture. Regrettably, my cat also loves snuggling up with me while I’m sitting on my leather furniture and has done tremendous damage to various chairs; especially my red leather recliner. I looked at YouTube for restoration tips as well as cleaners. I was prepared to go shopping to replace my expensive furniture. If you have any need for leather repair you should give Ivar a call.
In 1 week, he has come to our home 3 times to help us with:
1) a 6 month old leather sofa with sagging cushions
2) leather restoration for the leather seats of my 21 year old Miata (see before and after photos)
3) the repair of my Miata’s vinyl convertible top.

My furniture had been pretty badly damaged during a move, and I had given up all hope it could ever be repaired. Boy was I wrong. I am so grateful for these guys. They came to my house, equipped with masks the whole time, and got to work on the cuts and rips and gashes that has sullied my brand new couch. If they even got to 50% restoration I would have been grateful. They replaced it to over 90% of its pre-damaged self!! And at the best price of any competitors in the area, too!
I believe in leather miracles now. Hope I won’t ever have to use them again, but I know who to turn to (and who I’d recommend) if I ever have to repair any more leather. Thanks guys!

Ivar is amazing! I had only had my new SUV for 2 weeks when I inadvertently placed a aerosol sunscreen in a bag on the seat…2 hours later after continuous spraying my leather seat was ruined. I called Leather Repair OC and Ivar said no problem, since he was coming I asked if he could also repair leather chairs which my dog had decided to rub all over after we put his flea and tick medicine on…needless to say both were repair beyond my expectations. I don’t know how he does it but it’s pure magic. Since he did so well on my chairs and car seat I had him clean my couch where my same dog loves to rub and leave all his skin oils. I have a high end custom made leather sectional that had a 4 inch tear in the leather. Ivar was quick to respond to my phone call. He was able to provide an accurate estimate of repair from just a couple of photos of the damage and he repaired the damage onsite. His competitors in the area wanted to reupholster the entire cushion. Some wanted as much for pick up and delivery as Ivar charged for the entire repair. I decided to renovate my two leather chairs that were horribly sun-bleached, wine stained, and water marked. Ivar did a great job fixing the concealed damage that Home Consignment Center in Foothill Ranch attempted to hide on a couch I purchased. They botched the job and got caught and refused to take the couch back.
But Ivar was able to match the color perfectly and remove all traces of the damage. Would definitely recommend for any leather repair/color match you need!!! After Ivar matched the color……perfect!!!! The rest of the botched color job Ivar removed from the center cushion.

Ivar was responsive, friendly, reliable and fairly priced. I had a very positive experience.
Look at the pics on various reviews. He is a Craftsman. In my dealing with him it was apparent that he took great pride in his work and had great attention to detail.
It’s all too common to hire service people that want to turn and burn and get the billing. Iver is the exact opposite of that he wants to make sure he gets it right. I hesitate to call what he does a service. It’s more like an art to him. I recommend him without hesitation.

My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the job Ivar did for us. We needed our leather sofa and love seat’s attached cushions refilled. Ivar was on time and brought plenty of tools to do the job right here in our living room. He had to disassemble both sofa/love seat to access the cushions then removed the existing filler, re shaped it and added more filler for a fuller shape. He worked diligently for about 5 hours and was a perfect gentleman the whole time. We would highly recommend Ivar for any leather Reupholstery needs you might have.

I bought a 2014 BMW and the front vinyl seats and armrest needed some professional TLC, they had some cracks and the arms rest was worn out..
